Ethno-cultural socialization affects not only the individual acquisition of norms and values, but also the formation of beliefs. The strategies for adapting to the world (as indicator of the subjective well-being) are formed on the basis norms made generations and conserved in the ethnic culture. The purpose of the study is to analyze the confidence and belief as predictors of emotional and psychological components of subjective well-being between representatives in two ethnic groups – the Russians and the Kazakhs. It is shown that confidence has influenced both the characteristics of subjective well-being (psychological, more Russians, emotional-the Kazakhs). A «Contribution» of beliefs in subjective well-being is more significant. The beliefs in luck of the Kazakhs and the value of self-worth Russians influence on the variation of the subjective well-being. More detailed studies on the relationship between beliefs and well-being that show the influence of cultural variables (with variables-moderators and mediators) are needed.
