The aim of the study was to examine sexuality structure and representation of gender roles in women with acraturesis. In this study, a total of 60 women (20 with overactive bladder (OB); 20 with chronic cystitis (CC); 20 without acraturesis) were included. Method of individual interview was used; Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) (by R. Rosen et al), Eysenck's Sexual Attitudes Questionnaire, psychosemantic technique “Representation of sexual roles”, Machover Draw-a-Person test, Bem Sex Role Inventory (modified by Yu.V. Chebakova) were applied. It is shown that in women with OB all components of sexual function are disturbed while in women with CC all physiological parameters are consistent with those in control group. The study also shows that sexuality of women with acraturesis is characterized by dysadaptive qualities: dysfunctional representation about roles of sexual partners along with decreased feminine component, rigid sexual stereotypes, loss of emotional intensity and loss of constructiveness of sexual relationship evaluation. It is found that patients with OB demonstrate regressive dynamics of sexual structure as well as general infantilization. Different psychological mechanisms of feminization of gender role as compensation of dysadaptive sexual function in women with OB and CC are revealed in the study. Various relationships between components of sexual structure and gender role are found in control and experimental groups.

Keywords: overactive bladder, chronic cystitis, sexual function, gender role, feminization, dysadaptation, regressivity, identity, compensation
