The capabilities of ipsative scaling as a tool for "social desirability" reduction are considered. The data of meta-analysis of validity and reliability of ipsative personality questionnaires are presented. The capabilities and limitations of ipsative techniques, peculiarities of statistical analysis and interpretation of ipsative data are examined.
